Inspect Test & Tag is a family owned and run business, specialising in the electrical Test and Tagging of your appliances, Power boards, Extension leads and RCD’s to the standards required by AS/NZS 3760.

What We Do

Each appliance is disconnected from the Power Point, and is then visually inspected. This includes the examining of the plug, the flexible cord and the cord anchors. Depending on the type of appliance, we then use electrical testing instruments to test for invisible flaws such as broken earth connection or flawed insulation.

Once the tests have been completed, and marked pass or fail, a record is made in the Appliance Test Log and a coloured tag, bearing the appropriate information about the date and result of the testing, is fixed to the cord.

What happens to the items that fail?

When an item is electrically unsafe, we must apply a "FAIL" tag to the lead and withdraw it from service or use. It is the choice of the customer as to whether the item will be repaired or not.

Once all the tests are completed.

After the completion of testing at your workplace, we will issue you with a copy of the Appliance Test Log for your records. We also keep a computerised electronic copy for your access if required.

 

Our rule of thumb is:

" If it plugs in and the cord flexes, test it. "

  • We Inspect, Test and Tag all appliances using only Calibrated equipment.

  • We can provide computer generated reports, that are available on Hard copy and can also be emailed.

  • We will provide you with a reminder service to alert your business when equipment becomes due for re-testing.

  • Has Insurance cover for Public Liability and all staff have Current Police checks so that they can enter your premises.
